19-year-old CBSE topper from Haryana Allegedly Gang-Raped, parents claim police refusing to file FIR

GURUGRAM: A nineteen-year-old CBSE topper from a village near Rewari in Haryana has allegedly kidnapped and gang-raped by a group of men in Haryana.  The teenager, who was felicitated by the President after she topped the CBSE board exam, was  allegedly raped till she fell unconscious, and dumped at a bus stand.

Parents of the survivor told  that when they approached local law enforcement, the police refused to register a First Information Report (FIR) in this case. The family of the teenager also alleged that the perpetrators had threatened to kill the teenager if she reported the crime.

Responding to the allegations an official of Women Police station, Rewari, said a ‘zero FIR’ was lodged on the complaint of the woman, and the probe was being conducted by the Mahendergarh police.

Three men who arrived in a four-wheeler intercepted her and kidnapped her before dragging her to a field where she was gang-raped by the men and others already present at the field, the survivor told the police. The report also claims that the accused belong to the same village as that of the survivor.
