8th Maharaja Agrasen Volleyball Tournament Begins

Teams with full strength in the field

New Delhi: The 8th Maharaja Agrasen Volleyball Tournament was inaugurated with full enthusiasm in the Maharaja Agrasen Sports Complex. In this two-day tournament organized by Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology, 40 different colleges and universities of North India registered their names. It is worth mentioning that the cash prize of Rs. 51,000 was rewarded to the winner… 31,000 and Rs. 21,000 is for the second and third place respectively.

Addressing young players on the occasion, Dr Nand Kishore Garg, the founder president of the institute said that such events not only encourage sports but also help in getting along together… developing a healthy, competitive spirit.

Shri Umesh Gupta, Vice President of Maharaja Agrasen Technical Education Society inaugurated the event and Mr Sunder Lal Goyal, fired the colorful balloons in the sky… celebrating the occasion. Along with this, the entire sports complex was glorified with the national song- Vande Mataram.

The chief organizer and Director General of the institute, Prof. ML Goyal welcomed all the players in the campus. During an interaction many players said that in addition to cricket in the country other sports should also be encouraged.
