Andhra Pradesh: Suraj Krishna who bagged the No. 1 rank in the IIT-JEE Main 2018 examination has topped engineering stream of the Andhra Pradesh Engineering, Agriculture, Medicine Common Entrance Test.
Hyderabad’s Gattu Maitreya who came fifth in the IIT JEE-Main exam bagged the second rank in EAMCET.
Out of 1, 90,922 students who appeared for EAMCET on April 22, 1, 38,017, or 72.28%, qualified.
Similarly in the agriculture stream, 73,373 students appeared for the entrance of which 63,883 students got qualified, with total qualifying percentage being 87.60.
The counseling for admission into engineering and agriculture colleges would begin from May 26. Classes would commence from June 11.
Medical colleges in Andhra Pradesh are exempt from EAMCET as students are now selected through National Eligibility and Entrance Test at the all-India level. As such, EAMCET was conducted only for engineering and agriculture streams.
